Michael Dawson has labelled Leeds United’s front four as ‘unplayable’ after Saturday’s 3-2 win over Middlesbrough.
Daniel Farke has seemingly landed on an attacking quartet at Leeds who find themselves on the scoresheet in every match as they continue to get better and better.
Crysencio Summerville, Joel Piroe, Dan James and Georginio Rutter have all put up some stunning numbers so far this season, and were again key to Leeds’ victory at the weekend.
Dawson was speaking live on Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday, where he was left blown away by how many chances they are able to create for Leeds.
Summerville has arguably been the stand-out with eight goals and six assists, while James has chipped in with six goals and four assist. Rutter has four goals and seven assists, with Piroe completing the line-up with eight goals and one assist.
Leeds have a chance in every game with that front four
Dawson believes that Leeds’ front four is almost unplayable at this level, which is reflected in the numbers they have all put up so far this season.
He said: “The first half was one of the best first halves I have seen all season. It was end-to-end. It was like a basketball game. They are free-flowing. You look at Rutter, Piroe, Dan James and Summerville. They are electric. They are unplayable, at times. They create chances like you won’t believe.”
Leeds have been a bit leakier at the back in recent matches but when you have a front four which is firing like this, you have a chance in every game.
It is pretty telling just how good they have been that the likes of Willy Gnonto and Jaidon Anthony can hardly get a kick at the moment, who are both also very good in the Championship.
Farke will need to rotate carefully over the busy Christmas period but hopefully their form continues as Leeds face a tricky run of fixtures.
