‘Wonderful’… Jurgen Klopp blown away by 20-year-old player who Leeds have been linked with

The chances of Leeds United signing Liverpool talent Conor Bradley have massively reduced over the course of the last couple of weeks – and even more so, after Jurgen Klopp’s verdict last night.

Bradley was an exciting young player struggling to get any game time after an excellent stint on loan at Bolton – where he had a hand in 13 goals in 53 games. He’s played just five times for the Reds this term.

The 20-year-old though, could be in line for a whole lot more game time, now. It comes after Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Ljinders confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out injured for a while.

It comes after Leeds were linked with a move for the Northern Ireland star. But with Alexander-Arnold out, Bradley was handed a start on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup semi-final, against Fulham.

Liverpool came from behind to win 2-1 in the first leg of the tie, and Bradley lasted the entire match. He earned praise from Reds manager Klopp after the win over the Cottagers – labelling him “wonderful”.

“What a boy. Exceptional, wonderful, fantastic character, real talent, top potential and he’s in the right team. Everyone loves him, respects him, everybody wants him to succeed,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

Leeds have let Djed Spence and Luke Ayling leave the club this month without actually bringing in a replacement. Leeds have just Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray as options on the right of defence.

Shackleton has been injured for a while. Gray is a midfielder. On the left, Sam Byram and Junior Firpo are injury prone and of course, Stuart Dallas is closing in on two years out of the game, since April 2022.

Leeds need additions in defence and Bradley, judging by his display on Wednesday night, would be a top signing. But his performance and Alexander-Arnold’s injury surely means he will be staying put.
