Willy Gnonto continues to be linked with a move away from Leeds United amid reports he asked Daniel Farke not to be selected against Shrewsbury Town – and now, he has liked a graphic on Instagram of himself in an Everton shirt.

Gnonto, 19, lasted 82 minutes against Cardiff – starting up top with Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter missing through injury. He was unlucky not to score, hitting the bar. But on Wednesday night, he was nowhere to be seen.

The Mail reported that he had told Farke he did not want to be available for selection against the League One side. Farke commented after the 2-1 Carabao Cup win, stating that Gnonto was not injured – but was also not available.

Phil Hay reported on Twitter that Gnonto and Leeds are at a stand-off. The latest in terms of interest in Gnonto is a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, who states that Leeds are not accepting a permanent sale – but willing to loan him.

Aston Villa and Everton are among the clubs interested, as per Di Marzio. Now, Gnonto has dropped an enormous hint. He liked a graphic, created by AB Graphic Design on Instagram – who then shared he liked it, with a Tweet.

Oh, Willy. You are so much better than this. And of all the clubs you could have hinted at – Everton? The team we fought so hard against for the past two seasons in the race against relegation? It is ruining your status among fans.

Your reputation has gone from fan favourite, the potential to earn iconic status by stating with us in the second tier and guiding us to promotion – to the opposite. Zero. Even if it is your agents ill-informing you – just do better.
