Leeds United fans receive Will Ferrell and Larry Nance Jr message

Ferrell and Nance Jr are both key investors in the 49ers project at Leeds, with the basketball player being a key asset to the investor’s group after Nance Jr’s interactions with Leeds fans on Twitter.

The social media bond with the Leeds faithful has continued for both Nance Jr and Ferrell, as the two posted a message for fans on Instagram while at the Atlanta Hawks’ away fixture against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Posted on Nance Jr’s Instagram story, the two are pictured together with the caption: “Just 2 owners of the best damn club in the world” #LUFC @leedsunited.

Ferrell has shown his commitment to Leeds ever since issuing a ‘sign me up’ plea before he began his investment into the Whites.

Will Ferrell claims American investment in football is ‘finally catching up’

Ferrell hasn’t been in the spotlight for Leeds as much as Nance Jr, but has shown past antics which make him a loveable character around Elland Road.

The Hollywood actor has already invested in MLS outfit LAFC and is spotted regularly at their games, but Ferrell was seen in an unlikely position after he made the trip by train to Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley in September, his first game watching the club.

American investment is gaining plenty of traction in English football, with Ryan Reynolds kicking off the trend at Wrexham, followed closely by Tom Brady’s allegiance with Birmingham City.

When Ferrell arrived at the Burnley fixture, he spoke to LUTV (1:42) about the prospect of American investment in the English game and explained why it’s now become a popular venture for celebrities.

“Because we’re dastardly! No, I think we’re finally catching up to what a wonderful game this is.

“Americans are very heavy into their sports and their fanaticism but there’s still a level of devotion to English football that is unlike anywhere in the world. I think we find that exciting and admire it.”

Ferrell has shown his devotion to the club and his message with Nance Jr will have pleased much of the Leeds fanbase.
