Micah Richards has been left fuming with one Leeds United player after Leeds United lost 1-0 to Fulham.

Leeds United have four points from four games after losing their second away game of the Premier League season to Fulham. It was also their ninth consecutive defeat in London in the top flight.

They almost hung on for a valuable point in the end but Gabriel Gudmundsson’s unfortunate own goal sent Leeds back to West Yorkshire empty-handed.

Our Fulham 1-0 Leeds ratings said a lot about the general quality of the players, who were unlucky not to get a point. In the end, Leeds broke two unwanted records against Fulham thanks to the defeat.

Micah Richards’ view of Gabriel Gudmundsson’s own goal

Fulham’s Marco Silva was full of praise for Leeds despite his side claiming the win and it’s fair to say that Daniel Farke will have learned plenty about Leeds in defeat to Fulham.

Gudmundsson was the player to make the headlines, though, with the moment going viral across social media. Not only that, but he cost Micah Richards valuable points in Fantasy football.

The Match of the Day pundit, who also works for Sky Sports, spoke to Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer on The Rest Is Football. Richards is from Chapeltown in Leeds, and he was fuming at one player from his local side.

He said: “Honestly, it was a disaster. I was listening to it, and it was a clean sheet, I was thinking ‘absolutely buzzing’.

“And then, it went to the 91st minute, I thought, ‘I’ve still got a clean sheet here’.

“And Gudmundsson, he’s only £4million, he’s a cheap defender, and he’s done really well. If you concede, you still get defensive contributions.

“But, to score an own goal, he got zero points. I actually threw my phone.”

Lineker and Shearer have also commented on Gudmundsson and his own goal against Fulham, while Tony Dorigo had sympathy for Gudmundsson but more for another Leeds player.

Gabriel Gudmundsson matched an unwanted 30-year record

Leeds achieved an unwanted 30-year record thanks to Gudmundsson against Fulham, as outlined by Jonny Cooper of Opta.

Not only was that a blow but injury to Dan James against Fulham means Leeds’ pool of options in attack could be further diminished for their trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s a big week for Leeds and Farke, and Gudmundsson will be desperate to put the moment behind him to go again for what could be a six-pointer.
