The latest player to be linked with a move to Leeds United is about to become a free agent and Daniel Farke’s side have held talks with the defender’s representatives.
Leeds will spend big, but a few loan signings and a couple possibly on free transfers will be just as crucial for The Whites. Strengthening the depth on the cheap will allow Leeds to go big on starting XI signings.
Leeds will need additions all over the pitch. A goalkeeper, a centre-back, a left-back, a midfielder, a no.10 and a striker. But Leeds also need cover in other areas and one position of concern will be at full-back.
Sam Byram is set to go and Junior Firpo is ‘close’ to joining Betis. That leaves Leeds with Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt, the latter yet to convince Farke. Leeds need full-backs and Vladimir Coufal is a target.

What Robert Snodgrass said about Vladimir Coufal back in 2021
Leeds and Everton are considering moves for Coufal with the Czech Republic international desperate to remain in the Premier League. Leeds have also been linked with his best pal at West Ham, Tomas Soucek.
Back in 2021 and ahead of Euro 2020 – which was held in 2021 – Scotland faced the Czech Republic and Robert Snodgrass gave his verdict on Coufal to The Sunday Post, a teammate at West Ham at the time.
“Vladimir is a clever footballer. Disciplined and follows tactical instructions very well. He loves to bomb forward and can deliver a mean cross,” Snodgrass said, in quotes covered by Football London in 2021.

What we know about a possible move to Leeds for Coufal
Not only is Coufal out of contract on June 30, but West Ham have confirmed that he – along with Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings – will all leave the London Stadium at the end of their deals.
Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that Coufal’s representatives have actually spoken to Leeds about a move to Elland Road this summer. Leeds are now considering a move for the 32-year-old ace.
Interestingly, Coufal is represented by Stephen Hunt, the former Reading and Ireland winger. Brother of course, to former Leeds striker Noel Hunt. Time will tell, but Coufal could be a very solid addition.
