Pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke and Leeds United to set out and achieve the goal that was planned at the start of the season. Promotion to the Premier League.

Alarm bells are beginning to ring around Elland Road, as Leeds’ future as a Championship club might be longer than anticipated.

This all depends on the final six games of the season though, as the Whites must try and find a way to finish in the top two.

Pascal Striujk is now injured for two games, which will only add to Farke’s concerns at the moment.

Not only should he worry about his squad, but the Leeds hierarchy might be raising questions, and what Paraag Marathe has said previously gives a major hint into Farke’s future.

Paraag Marathe’s hint on Daniel Farke’s Leeds United future

Previously, it had been claimed that there was doubt over Farke’s future, but the 49ers have remained schtum on the German’s position.

At least recently anyway, as Marathe is someone who’s been very vocal in the past over Farke’s future at Elland Road.

It’s no doubt been a successful year for the Whites, but if promotion isn’t gained after coming so close for a second season, serious unrest will be caused in the fanbase.

This has brought back comments made by Marathe, which explains exactly what the Leeds owner will do if failure is associated with this campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the playoff final defeat to Southampton, Marathe was questioned on where he stands with Farke’s position.

“We have a long-term plan, a long-term commitment,” Marathe said.

“We have to see our plan through.

“I really feel confident about this season.”

Farke will remain at Leeds no matter the outcome of the season

Marathe’s comments have painted the picture for Farke at Leeds, it’s likely he will stay next season no matter what.

If the German was under severe pressure from the media and other sources, it would be clear, but there has been no indication of this happening, and Marathe’s ‘long-term’ view sums up how he feels about the Whites boss.

However, Marathe will no doubt start applying pressure if Leeds fail at promotion this season, as Farke’s own blunder could cost Leeds.

Unless an updated statement on Farke appears, the likelihood is that he will remain at the club, which is certainly not a bad thing if promotion is secured.

But going out via the playoffs for the second season running doesn’t put Farke in a good light, and the 49ers will have to give answers.
