Marcelo Bielsa deserved whatever he earned at Leeds United after the work he did around the club.
With this being said fans will be happy to know his £6m a year salary in his first season went down a treat as the Argentine was a revelation at Elland Road.
They’ll no doubt be comparisons between Bielsa and Daniel Farke but both deserve respect in their own right at Leeds.
However, Bielsa has won a Championship title which is the hope for Farke this season if all things go to plan for the rest of the campaign.
But what Bielsa did in 2018 showed how he was in a class of his own with a stunning amount spent on something.

He didn’t give much away with his character in the public eye but it’s clear the former Whites boss was a brilliant role model behind the scenes.
Bielsa transformed the likes of Pablo Hernandez at Leeds with the Argentine’s man-management skills being second to none.
It will be a skill extremely hard to replicate by any future Leeds boss but Farke is seemingly the closest candidate Leeds fans will get, as he should be praised for that department.
His football knowledge was generational, but Bielsa also had a kind heart off the pitch, as he put his £6m earnings to good use.
In 2018, the former Leeds manager decided to donate £1.9m to his former club Newell’s Old Boys, where Lionel Messi started his illustrious footballing career.
He did this to improve the Argentine side’s players’ centre, barbecue balcony, and games room, as his impact on the club in Argentina shows why he’s a legend everywhere he goes.
Old Boys was the first club he played for and ended up managing so if Leeds ever find themselves in a sticky patch again financially, you can probably count on Bielsa to help.

Leeds will never see the like of Bielsa again at Elland Road
The only way Leeds could ever replace the genius of Bielsa is with Bielsa himself.
It’s a shame his time with the club ended so abruptly, as it looked like at one point, the Argentine could emulate the length of a Sir Alex Ferguson tenure.
Nevertheless, it seemed like Bielsa was right at home and had an excellent four-and-a-half seasons with the club.
Liam Cooper said Bielsa galvanised Leeds, and it will take a lot for Farke to reach that level.
