Brenden Aaronson was once again a talking point among Leeds United fans, who watched their side come from behind to draw 2-2 at QPR on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds United made hard work of their game on Saturday; as they have done quite often of late, and as they always seem to do against QPR in West London.
Daniel Farke’s side had lost their previous four games at Loftus Road going into this one, and they were well on their way to a fifth after finding themselves two goals behind after half an hour.
But an own goal before the break halved the deficit. Then soon after the restart, Jayden Bogle fired home to level the scores.
QPR scorer Koki Saito saw red late on, but Leeds couldn’t find a third. Despite what was a positive comeback, it’s another game that Leeds really should be winning, but fell short in.
They remain in 1st place of the Championship table for the March international break and three points ahead of Sheffield United who play Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Leeds United fans cheer as Brenden Aaronson is brought off vs QPR
One player who often proves divisive is Brenden Aaronson. The American has made that no.10 spot his own this season, with 38 appearances in the Championship, eight goals and two assists for the Whites. But there’s a growing number of Leeds fans who think he actually offers very little to the side.
Before the QPR game, Farke admitted that Aaronson has struggled of late. And he certainly struggled in the first half against QPR with Leeds fans on social media berating the 24-year-old, who cost the Whites a staggering £24.7million back in 2022.
When he was replaced at half-time at Loftus Road, the Leeds fans in the away end could be heard cheering. It really sums up how they feel about the attacker right now.
Daniel Farke backs Brenden Aaronson to overcome dry spell at Leeds United
This week has not been a positive one for Aaronson. First he was left out of the USMNT squad for the March internationals, then he put in a poor showing at QPR.
He has decent numbers this season though, and speaking earlier in the year, Farke backed Aaronson to overcome this tough patch and get back in the goals and assists.
The Leeds boss said: “It’s quite normal players have spells [where they are not at their best]. Each player has two or three games [where he endures] a weaker spell. I wouldn’t over-interpret it too much. His goals and assists will come back.”
Aaronson goes into this international break with no goals or assists in his last eight games for the Whites now.
