Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the race to sign Leeds United talent Archie Gray after a move to Brentford was rejected, and a report shares what Daniel Farke thinks about his exit.
It has been a bit of a saga surrounding Gray this weekend. So far this summer, the feeling around Gray is that he would stay put at Elland Road and continue his development at the club he loves so much.
But Saturday evening saw reports emerge that he was going to Brentford for a medical, with Leeds giving permission for Gray to travel. Gray was happy to stay but Leeds told him he needs to go because of PSR.
However, having travelled to West London, Leeds decided to reject the £40m bid from Brentford on Sunday morning. Now, Tottenham are leading the race to land Gray with confidence a deal will be done.

What Farke thinks about Leeds selling Gray as Tottenham close in
Gray is open to Tottenham and given the bigger size of the club, it is likely Spurs are able to meet Leeds’ demands easier that Brentford did with a different in structure of payments scuppering the Bees’ move.
Rumours arose on social media following the reports that Gray was leaving, that Farke was unhappy and that he may even resign. But The Guardian now share what Farke’s stance is on Gray leaving the club.
They report that while Farke is unhappy at the sale of Gray and wants him to stay, he understand that the club need to cash in in order to comply with Profit & Sustainability rules ahead of the July 1 deadline.

Which other clubs could still try to sign Gray from Leeds?
Brentford made the first move while Tottenham were always touted as second in line to get Gray and ready in waiting should a move to Brentford fail. That is now reality, as Spurs close in on a deal for Gray.
But there is huge interest in the midfielder and four others in the Premier League could make a move. Chelsea are also keen, though their focus is a reunion between Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Enzo Maresca.
Liverpool, West Ham and Aston Villa are also interested in signing the England U21 star and it remains to be seen if Gray will be the subject of any more offers as the day unravels.
