Daniel Farke has made his stance clear on the idea of Charlie Cresswell leaving Leeds United on loan in the January transfer window.
The Athletic reports that the centre-back has been left in no doubt that he will be expected to remain at Elland Road for the second-half of the season.
Charlie Cresswell may have become something of a forgotten figure within the Leeds squad. The 21-year-old featured in four of our opening 10 games in the Championship.
Charlie Cresswell will be staying at Leeds in January
However, he has not played since early October. And he has not featured in a match day squad since the win over Plymouth Argyle before the international break.

That appears to have alerted some of Leeds’ Championship rivals. Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in Cresswell heading into the January transfer window.
However, it seems that Michael Carrick is set for disappointment if he hopes to indeed sign the defender.
The Athletic reports that Cresswell has been informed that he will not be leaving next month. Daniel Farke wants to have four centre-backs in his ranks, and Cresswell is one of those.
Daniel Farke right to ensure group stays together
Ultimately, Leeds have shown that they have a squad which can compete with anyone in the division. We have seen victories over both Leicester City and Ipswich.
So there is little need to move any players on unless we receive the kind of bids which allow us to reinvest and strengthen in other areas.
Cresswell is an outstanding talent with a very bright future ahead. However, if he was going to leave in January, you would imagine that it would be on loan, or for not the most significant fee.
Of course, Farke will not want Cresswell’s development to stagnate. But Leeds cannot afford to leave themselves short at the back.
The signing of Joe Rodon has reminded everyone what a difference having a quality centre-back can have on the side. So it is definitely not the position to take a gamble on.
