Sam Allison has been appointed referee for Wednesday’s clash between Leeds United and Swansea City, but he has never reffed Leeds before – and his Championship stats are somewhat alarming.
Leeds will be looking to get back to winning ways on Wednesday after a struggling display at the New York Stadium, in which Leeds drew with Rotherham. Not enough, if Leeds want to finish in the top two.
They take on a struggling Swansea at Elland Road this week, before hosting Middlesbrough. Michael Duff’s side have won one of their last six, despite winning four on the bounce prior to this run of results.
They could be bolstered with the signing of Tresor Kandol’s cousin Yannick Bolasie on a free, but we will still be considered as favourites. Allison has been given the whistle for the match, on Wednesday night.
Allison has only refereed four times in the Championship this season, having also reffed in League One and League Two so far. In his four Championship games, he has dished out 22 yellows, and one red.

Eight of those 22 came on Saturday, as Leicester beat Watford 2-0 – handing Daniel Bachmann a red card in injury time, allowing Jamie Vardy to score a late penalty. Not afraid to reach into his pocket.
It will be interesting to see how Allison copes in front of a packed Elland Road crowd, especially if he makes a decision against the Whites. Certainly, this will be one of Allison’s biggest games so far.
A win could see them close the gap between themselves and Ipswich to just four points after Kieran McKenna’s side lost to West Brom. Ipswich host Millwall. Leicester travel to Sheffield Wednesday.
