Swansea City manager Michael Duff has confirmed that he hopes to sign Yannick Bolasie on a free transfer ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Leeds United. Bolasie has been training with Swansea.
Leeds will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 1-1 draw with Rotherham United on Friday, as the Whites take on Duff’s Swansea at Elland Road. Swansea are in the midst of a poor run of form.
Just one win in six for the Welsh club, which comes off the back of four straight victories. On Saturday, Duff watched his side play out a 2-2 draw with Hull City – who also held Leeds to a draw, in September.
Bolasie, 34, was on fire last season in the second tier of Turkish football with Caykur Rizespor – helping them gain promotion. But he did not sign a new deal and remains a free agent, at least until this week.

Bolasie, who was born in Lyon but has represented DR Congo on 50 occasions and is the cousin of ex-Leeds striker Kandol, is set to sign. Wales Online say he could play on Wednesday. Duff commented.
“Yannick’s been in the building for a week. Hopefully that’ll get done. You don’t get bought for £25m (by Everton) if you don’t know how to handle a football. It’ll be a two-month deal and we’ll see how it goes.”
Swansea hope to sign Yannick Bolasie in time for Leeds clash
Bolasie is clearly, no longer the player he once was but he is still fit and after last season’s impressive season – albeit in Turkey’s second tier – he will confident of having an impact at Swansea this season.
Duff confirmed that he will be signing until the January window and then a decision can be made then. One positive for Leeds, is Bolasie’s record against us. Played five, lost four, drawn one. Good odds.
