Daniel Farke has confirmed Leeds United are ‘not too far away’ from making some new signings.

Farke was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds‘ trip to Ipswich Town on Saturday, where the prospect of new additions was asked about.

The Whites have brought in just four new signings so far this summer but are keen to add at least four with Farke keen on strengthening every outfield position.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Joel Piroe is set to travel to Leeds from Swansea after an agreement of £12 million was reached between the two clubs.

Additionally, according to Sky in Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri is also close to joining after giving the green light on a move.

Farke says Leeds close to signings

Farke has spoken quite openly about his desire for signings this summer but has often been coy about when they might arrive.

Today, however, he has confirmed that Leeds are not too far away in what is undoubtedly an exciting update for supporters.

He said: “I don’t comment about any player. My only focus is the game tomorrow. This is my only concern. No frustration but when I can’t fill the bench, I can’t hide the fact that I wish to strengthen.

“We are working hard and we are not too far away to new incomings. We are on a good path but it’s a challenge. Out situation has improved to last week definitely. We know it’s a long road.

“We will see what will happen. We are working hard. Our target is to get signings as soon as possible but I cannot promise before the weekend.”

While it remains uncertain whether players will be in before Ipswich, it does finally appear as though Leeds are now motoring in the window.
