Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has previewed his side’s FA Cup fifth round tie with Leeds United tomorrow.

The Blues face an extremely tight turnaround following Sunday’s Carabao Cup final defeat to Liverpool which was not decided until the last two minutes of extra-time.

The FA Cup now represents Chelsea’s final chance to win a trophy this season, but they are set to come up against a Leeds side full of confidence after nine consecutive Championship victories.

Daniel Farke has already hinted himself he will make some changes to his Leeds starting XI at Stamford Bridge. That said, it still represents a chance to showcase themselves against a Premier League side, whom they have an historic rivalry with.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Pochettino says he is aware of the rivalry between the two clubs and has called on his supporters to back his side amid a large travelling contingent from Leeds.

He said: “Yes, of course, we are aware. Leeds tomorrow is going to be tough. I think of course, I understand the disappointment from our fans but we need their help as always. Leeds is going to be pushing with four or five thousand fans.”

Leeds will be facing Chelsea at the ideal time amid their exertions at Wembley on Sunday, however, it does come at a really busy period in the Whites’ season.

This is the first of four matches in 10 days and with a West Yorkshire derby at Huddersfield Town on Saturday lunchtime, it is clear where Leeds’ priorities are.

Leeds face three matches against sides towards the bottom of the Championship and know it is an excellent opportunity to cement their position in the top two.

With that in mind, Wednesday is somewhat of a free hit for Farke’s side but hopefully they can still showcase a good performance, and what has been building at the club since relegation.
