Sory Kaba has been linked with a return to England and Leeds United are among the clubs supposedly looking to sign the FC Midtjylland striker – and watch, as the Gambian ace scored on Wednesday in the Conference League.

Kaba, 28, spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City – helping the Welsh side avoid relegation from the Championship to League One, by scoring an impressive eight goals in 17 games. Cardiff want to sign him again.

UD Las Palmas.Net report that Leeds and Cardiff are among the front runners to land the Gambian star, who has a contract at Midtjylland until next summer. Watford are another. The report says six Championship clubs are keen.

But it appears he still has a role to play with Midtjylland. Coming on at half-time on Wednesday night, as Midtjylland faced Progres Niederkorn, Kaba doubled his side’s advantage on the hour mark. They posted a video of his goal.

Kaba would be an excellent signing. He took no time at all to adapt to English football last season, joining in January and instantly scoring at a 1-in-2 ratio. That was in a side staring down the barrel of relegation. An impressive start.

Surely, he has to return to and shine for a club at the other end of the table. Midtjylland is a good place to play his football, especially with a possible European group stage on the horizon. But Leeds need a striker and Kaba is ideal.

Cheap, given his contractual situation, but proven at this level and with doubts continuing to emerge surrounding Patrick Bamford – Kaba could be brought in. Leeds do have options, in Georginio Rutter, Joe Gelhardt and more.
