Karl Darlow did not always get a run in the team at Newcastle United, and the goalkeeper has failed to establish himself in the starting lineup at Leeds United.

Darlow joined Leeds from Newcastle in the summer of 2023. During his time at the Magpies from 2014 until 2023, the goalkeeper could manage just 52 appearances in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper played only twice in the Championship last season and has not featured even once in the league so far this campaign.

Darlow plays second-fiddle to Illan Meslier at Leeds, but he started for Wales against Turkey in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday evening.

The goalkeeper did well in the UEFA Nations League – League B – Group 4 game at RHG Enertürk Enerji Stadyumu, and the national media was impressed with him, just as they were with Joe Rodon’s display against Turkey.

WalesOnline, though, did not rate the performance of Daniel James too highly.

The Leeds winger came on as a substitute at the start of the second half and got 6.

“A couple of promising dribbles, but otherwise quite quiet,” stated WalesOnline.
