Leeds United have been loosely linked with a move for Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks this summer, with the England star’s contract due to end in 12 months – and Football London’s Alasdair Gold says he is ‘expected to go’.
Winks, 27, spent last season on loan at Sampdoria – Andrea Radrizzani’s new club. Obviously, they have been relegated from Serie A, and Winks returns to Spurs where he has 12 months left on his contract. Leeds are keen.
Whether Winks is willing to drop a division into the Championship after a difficult season in Italy, which was ruined by injury, remains to be seen. Samp News 24 said Leeds were considering Winks, but Postecoglou was waiting.
Apparently, the manager wanted to take a look at Winks before making a decision. But, Gold has reported in his recent column with Football London that Winks is still ‘expected’ to go this summer. A possible boost for Leeds.

Those in the recruitment department at Leeds have been working to identify targets ahead of the summer window. But, those will be completely unclear until Nick Hammond meets with whoever Leeds appoint as the new manager.
No decision can really be made until then. The dead wood can leave, but new signings cannot come in until a new manager has arrived. Winks though, would be an incredible signing for a Championship side – it is what he needs.
The ex-England man needs a kickstart in his career and a move to a big club like Leeds, but at Championship level, could give him the revival his career needs. We are also in desperate need for midfielder this summer, too.
Weston McKennie has gone, Adam Forshaw’s deal is yet to be renewed, and both Tyler Adams and Marc Roca could be sold. So, signing Winks would only cover Adams – and Leeds would have to invest in more – but a brilliant start.
