Italian outlet Samp News 24 claim Leeds United have reignited interest in Tottenham man Harry Winks ahead of an ambitious move for the England player, possibly on loan. But they must wait for a decision from Ange Postecoglou.
Winks, 27, has spent the last year on loan at Andrea Radrizzani’s new side Sampdoria. But for the first part of the season, he failed to overcome an ankle injury. Finally recovering at the midway point, he played 20 times in Serie A.
Sampdoria have the option to sign Winks permanently, but after the club were relegated – Winks is likely to return to Spurs this summer. He has a year left on his deal, and will find a number of midfielders ahead of him in the rankings.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouma, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur and possibly even rookie Pape Matar Sarr. So, Winks is more than likely to leave. The report claims that Leeds are interested in a move for the Spurs midfielder.
The Mail said that Jesse Marsch was considering a move for Winks last summer – but nothing materialised. Now, Samp News 24 claim that interest has resurfaced. But, that new Spurs boss Postecoglou wants to take a look first.

An ambitious move, given the stature of Winks – a player to have played 203 times for Spurs, and boasts 10 England caps. But his future is unclear. He needs a club where he can play regular football. He may struggle in the top tier.
While he is a proven Premier League player, Winks is a man that needs to play regularly to get the best out of him and maybe a drop in division to the Championship – with a side that plays attacking football – would suit Winks.
