Tim Sherwood says one player ‘shouldn’t be at Leeds’ after watching him in Stoke City win

Tim Sherwood believes one of Leeds United’s stars in the 6-0 victory over Stoke City ‘shouldn’t’ even be at the club.

Leeds United put in an uncharacteristically stress-free performance when the pressure was intense on Easter Monday as they blew a hapless Stoke City away.

Joel Piroe got the opening goal with just six minutes on the clock and by the 20th he had completed the fastest hat-trick in Leeds’ history.

Daniel Farke’s side weren’t done there, though, as Junior Firpo got in on the act before Piroe added a fourth before the break.

The goals dried up in the second half but Willy Gnonto managed to add a sixth to get the promotion party started at Elland Road, with Leeds now knocking on the door of the Premier League.

Manor Solomon didn’t get a goal but picked up another two assists as his purple patch continues but Tim Sherwood says he shouldn’t be at Leeds.

Tim Sherwood thinks Manor Solomon is too good for Leeds

Sherwood was on punditry duty for the match on Sky Sports’ Soccer Special and sang the praises of Solomon’s work in creating the opening goal, with his cross putting the ball on a plate for Piroe.

“He can’t miss from there,” the former Tottenham manager said.

“What a delivery from Manor Solomon. He shouldn’t be on loan at Leeds.”

After Piroe completed his hat-trick, Sherwood added: “Whatever Piroe has had for breakfast, I want some.

“Game over. Not even Leeds can throw this away.”

Leeds certainly did well to sign a player of Solomon’s calibre on loan for the season, with the winger now really firing in the Championship after a slow start.

The question remains, though, if Leeds will move to sign Solomon permanently in the summer transfer window.

Manor Solomon crucial in Leeds promotion charge

Solomon has stepped up to the plate more than any other Leeds player in the last few weeks to ensure promotion is all but secured.

Leeds looked like they’d run out of gas after winning just one game in six and slipping to third in the Championship table.

But Solomon has come in clutch when it’s mattered most and contributed massively to the last four crucial victories.

He has scored or set up a goal in each of the games, doing both against Preston in a Player of the Match performance. That’s two goals and four assists in his last four appearances. Massive.
