Plymouth Argyle manager Steven Schumacher believes Leeds United are an ‘outstanding’ team and is wary of the attacking threat they will pose on Saturday.
Schumacher was speaking to Plymouth Live in his pre-match press conference ahead of Argyle’s trip to Elland Road tomorrow, in which he gave his thoughts on Daniel Farke’s side.
Plymouth come into this match still searching for their first win away from home since their promotion from League One, but will undoubtedly pose Leeds a big threat.
Only the top two Leicester City and Ipswich Town have scored more goals than Argyle this season, though it is at the other end where they have struggled.
Plymouth have conceded 25 goals in their opening 15 matches and they will need that to change in order to get a result on Friday, as Leeds boast one of, if not the best attacking options in the division.
Schumacher wary of Leeds attacking threat
Speaking ahead of the game, Schumacher was full of praise for Leeds’ performance in their win at Leicester last Friday, and knows his side must be at their best to ‘contain’ the attacking threat.
He said: “They are so strong. They are in really good form. I think everybody wanted to watch that game against Leicester, and they were outstanding, but they have been good for the last few weeks.
“We have to try to be organised as best as possible, try to contain their forward players and as always just be us though and be brave, and try to have a go. I think that’s our best way, get on the front foot and see what happens.”
Leeds should be full of confidence going into Saturday’s game but cannot afford to be complacent as Plymouth have the capability to hurt any side in this league.
However, it could be a game that suits Farke’s side as it does not sound like Plymouth will come to Elland Road and sit back.
That should leave space for the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter to play, which is an exciting prospect for Leeds.
