The 49ers told new ‘No.1 priority’ after Leeds United win Championship title

Leeds United fans have made it clear what they want the 49ers to do next after the side dramatically clinched the Championship title on Saturday.

It looked as if, after all, Leeds United were going to fall apart at the death to ensure a fantastic season ended on a sour note.

All Daniel Farke’s side had to do to secure the Championship title was defeat an all-but-relegated Plymouth Argyle but they found themselves struggling as the home side went ahead.

Willy Gnonto levelled just after the break but an off-kilter Leeds couldn’t find a winner as the clock ticked on, with Burnley’s lead against Millwall meaning they went top of the table.

Just when it looked like second place was calling, in the 90th minute, Manor Solomon found himself on the ball in the box and somehow squeezed it into the far corner.

The dramatic goal will go down as Leeds’ very own ‘Aguero moment’ and sparked wild scenes on the south coast and back home.

Unsurprisingly, Leeds fans have immediately called for the 49ers to sign Solomon permanently.

Leeds United fans want Manor Solomon signed ASAP

Solomon’s dramatic strike will surely go down in Leeds history as one of the best goals ever scored by a player in white.

Predictably, supporters immediately took to social media to demand that the club sign the Tottenham Hotspur loanee permanently in the summer transfer window.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans could not hide their jubilation, with one writing in full caps: “SIGN HIM UP, SIGN HIM UP, MANOR SOLOMON, SIGN HIM UP!!!!!”

Another supporter echoed those thoughts by saying: “Solomon needs buying by Monday. Just pay what they ask.”

Spurs are reportedly looking for £15-£20m for Solomon, which might be a steal going off his current form.

Another fan wrote: “Manor Solomon should be signed before the end of the day,” and one added: “It had to be Solomon again, sign him up.”

Manor Solomon has been pivotal in the Championship title charge

Not only did Soloman make something happen when no one else could with the winner and not only did he set up Gnonto’s equaliser but he has been absolutely pivotal to Leeds’ charge to promotion and the title.

Leeds were staring the prospect of a Play-off campaign directly in the face after a horrible run of results in March and Solomon was the player to really spark their revival.

With his goal and assist at Plymouth, the winger has now scored or set up a teammate in the last six games. He’s done both against the Greens and Preston.

Solomon has three goals and six assists in that run and has been the difference maker in dragging Leeds over the line. If he doesn’t return to Elland Road this summer, he will always be remembered as a legend.
