Leeds United have already suffered a handful of injury problems this season, and now, reports say that Dan James is set for a sustained period on the sidelines.
James has already endured a difficult few months with injury, starting the season without participating in a pre-season at Leeds. The Wales winger then picked up a problem after coming on against Fulham.
Since then, James has not been in action, though it was a belief that he would be involved for Saturday’s welcome of Tottenham on the weekend. Adam Pope reports that James has suffered a long-term injury.
It is unclear what the length of the injury is, with Pope requesting information from sources within the club. It does look as if James will be out for a long period, making the next announcement a surprise.

Surprise announcement surfaces after news of Dan James injury
Just hours after Pope had aired reports of James picking up the injury in training, Leeds confirmed that four of the five Wales players on Leeds’ books have been called up for the October international break.
Alongside summer target Harry Wilson, Leeds quartet Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and James have all been included in Craig Bellamy’s squad for the next training camp, ahead of two Wales fixtures.
Wales take on Thomas Tuchel’s England in a friendly at Wembley next Thursday, before facing Belgium in another crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying fixture. James is included, but chances are he is pulled out.
The Leeds player who will receive a big boost after James injury
No one celebrates an injury, even players competing for the same spot. But, Brenden Aaronson has impressed on the right flank since surprisingly starting in the 1-0 loss to Fulham earlier this month.
On Saturday, Aaronson got a standing ovation for his efforts against Bournemouth. USA star Aaronson is currently joint-third in the Premier League rankings for crosses blocked, highlighting his importance.
Ultimately, James’ absence will only increase Aaronson’s game time on the right, especially as he is at the moment, starting games under Daniel Farke. Ahead of a home World Cup, it is good news for Aaronson.
