Stoke City manager Alex Neil has been quoted by the Stoke Sentinel as pinpointing four Leeds United players that will cause a threat to his side on Wednesday night – including Dan James and Joel Piroe.

Leeds go into Wednesday night’s clash against Stoke at the Britannia having won three on the bounce, and five of the last seven. An incredible run of form that has seen Leeds jump into a lofty third place.

Leeds fans have not been used to this kind of form for a good couple of years, and the feel-good factor is certainly in place. Stoke picked up a good win against Sunderland on the weekend and will be a test.

Especially, given the quick turnaround from Saturday’s win. Leeds remain without Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo and Djed Spence – but Willy Gnonto came off the bench and is back from injury. He could start.

Neil was asked about Leeds and is fully aware of the threat that will come from Farke’s side. He picked four Leeds players that will provide danger to the Stoke defence – and they will come as no surprise.

“They’ve got good balance and they’ve got two good forwards. They bought Joel Piroe for more than £10m. The other lad Georginio Rutter for something like £28m. They are going to give you quality.

“They’ve got Dan James on one wing who’s really quick and then you’ve got Summerville who scored a couple the other day. We know we know the threat that they’re going to pose,” Neil told his presser.

The chances are that Farke will continue with the side that produced the comeback at Norwich. James started the comeback and is in superb form – one goal, seven assists in 13 games for club and country.

Summerville’s brace on Saturday was stunning, he certainly starts. Piroe and Rutter are almost first names on the team sheet at the moment. Their partnership is key for Leeds, in the hunt for promotion.
