Georginio Rutter took his tally to a massive 18 assists for the season on Sunday as Leeds United eased past Millwall to win 2-0 at Elland Road – and Jobi McAnuff has raved about the Frenchman.
Rutter, 21, has been almost unplayable at times for Leeds this season – as the Frenchman continues to put last season’s nightmares behind him and provide the attacking heartbeat in the push for promotion.
While he has only scored seven goals for Leeds in 40 games – Rutter has created a whopping 18, taking his tally to 25 goals and assists. Lee Hendrie described Rutter as “brilliant’ against Millwall on Sunday.
Aidy White was recently stunned by his moment of genius against Stoke, his assist for Dan James in a 1-0 win. Today, it was McAnuff that raved about our club-record signing, creating a goal for James again.
Rutter rolled on-loan Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga before pulling the ball back to James to score – even if the Welsh winger took his time before putting the ball in the back of the net to go 2-0 up.
“Another set-piece situation that I’m sure Neil Harris won’t be happy about. But once they get in this situation, really good bit of play there, and Rutter fantastic bit of skill. He actually uses his body.
“His strength to just roll Tanganga. This man here, so hard to stop, skilful, carries the ball so well but also has that physical presence to do that and puts it on a plate in the end,” McAnuff said on Sky Sports.

Rutter has been absolutely sensational this season. A massive 18 assists is quite incredible, with eight Championship matches left to play. The Frenchman could be involved in a huge 30 goals this season.
Rutter is set to be one of a number of players that remain at Elland Road during the international break, while our Wales quartet take on Glen Kamara in a Euro 2024 play-off. A massive game for their nations.
