Leeds United have enjoyed a positive start to the Championship season in a campaign in which everyone at the club knows just how important winning promotion back to the Premier League is.
Daniel Farke’s side are third in the Championship table with 29 points from 15 matches.
Leeds are two points behind Sunderland and Sheffield United, who are first and second respectively in the standings.
The Elland Road faithful are desperate to see their side return to the Premier League and put last season’s near-miss in the Champions play-off final behind them.
One player who may not be in the Leeds squad if they are promoted to the Premier League is Junior Firpo.
Firpo, serving a domestic ban at the moment, has been on the books of Leeds since the summer of 2021 when he joined from Barcelona.
The left-back is out of contract at the West Yorkshire club at the end of the season.

The Leeds star has scored one goal and given three assists in 13 Championship matches so far this season.
Firpo scored one goal and provided one assist in 14 starts and five substitute appearances in the Championship in the 2023-24 campaign.
Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix gives verdict on Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo
Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix is a Leeds fan, and he believes that Firpo would be worth hanging onto if the club get promoted.
In two seasons in the Premier League for Leeds, Firpo scored one goal, gave three assists and kept two clean sheets in 43 matches.
Rix said about Firpo on BBC Sport: “Firpo is really interesting. I think a lot of people would say no straight away to him starting, but last time in the Premier League, he never really had a run of games.
“We don’t think he’s that good at defending but he does do some other good things, so for that reason I think he would be worth a go.
“But he is also out of contract so he might not even get the chance!”

Leeds United already have a Junior Firpo replacement in mind
Firpo has done relatively well for Leeds during his time at Elland Road so far.
The £13 million Dominican Republic international left-back is 28 now and is at the top of his game.
However, Leeds are already planning for life without the former Barcelona defender in the team.
LeedsUnitedNews have learned that Leeds have Archie Brown on their radar as a left-back target.
Brown came through at Derby County and is now on the books of Gent in Belgium. He is 22 now.
Dennis Cirkin is another left-back that Leeds are interested in. The 22-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur prospect is on the radar of Sunderland at the moment.
