Former Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has praised defender Jayden Bogle for an unnoticed moment in the thrilling comeback against Liverpool

Daniel Farke took another step towards securing his position with Leeds as his side mounted a dazzling comeback to secure a draw with Liverpool.

Leeds appeared destined for a defeat when Liverpool raced into a 2-0 lead early in the second half, as a mistake from Joe Rodon proved costly.

Gary Neville slammed Rodon’s “sloppy” error to allow Hugo Ekitike to score; however, it did not prove too costly for the Whites in the end as Ao Tanaka scored a dramatic late equaliser.

However, Grayson has now praised Jayden Bogle for his impressive response to the error, as he was the first to console his teammate.

Speaking on LUTV, Grayson was quick to praise the Leeds full-back for rallying around Rodon after his mistake.

According to Grayson, Bogle’s actions highlight the strong team spirit at Leeds, which helped inspire Farke’s side to complete a famous comeback.

Grayson said: “Joe Rodon’s been an exceptional player for the club, and he’s made mistakes, you can count on one hand. So, for him to misplace that pass is something that he’ll be disappointed with, that everybody will be disappointed with.

“But you can’t be too critical of him because he’s been exceptional. What I really liked about him is that he didn’t let it affect him for the rest of the game. He didn’t go and try to put right what went wrong by doing something stupid.

“Of course, every player can make mistakes and misplace passes; unfortunately, it just goes straight through to their centre forward, who goes through, and to be fair, it’s a good finish.

“The good thing that I saw from that as well was that Bogle came across straight away, patted him on the back and said, ‘Look, don’t worry about it, let’s get on to the next situation’. And that’s the team spirit they’ve got within the group.”
