Sheffield United defender Harrison Burrows has been comparing his side to their Championship rivals in the race for promotion, and has suggested the Blades have something the other three don’t.
Chris Wilder watched his side return to the top of the Championship on Saturday afternoon with a solid 2-0 win at Bramall Lane over Daniel Farke’s old side Norwich City, leapfrogging Leeds United into first.
Summer singing Burrows was the man of the moment, opening the scoring with a volley from 25 yards out that hit both posts before bobbling into the net. On the hour mark, he made it two from the spot.
No dramas from Burrows, unlike Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor that saw two spot-kicks denied by Burnley’s James Trafford on Friday night. It leaves Leeds needing a win to go back into first place on Sunday.
Harrison Burrows compares Leeds to Sheffield United
Back in the summer, reports said Leeds had made a late move to sign Burrows before he joined Sheffield United. They appeared wide of the mark when Sheffield United announced his arrival from Peterborough.
Now, speaking to CBS Sports in America this weekend, Burrows has claimed that Sheffield United’s off-the-pitch togetherness is better than the three rivals for promotion in Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley.
“Everyone knows how close it is in the Championship. The togetherness we’ve installed in the group is a massive help. We’re not just a team, we’re a family. On the pitch, we sort of show that,” Burrows said.
“Our togetherness, comparing the four teams, is probably more there I would say. Ultimately, that’s really helping us win games. We’ve got top-quality players and a top-quality manager so that really helps.”

The left-back issue remains a problem at Elland Road. It has done, in all honesty, since Charlie Taylor left the club to join Burnley. Plenty have joined and tried to plug the gap but have ultimately failed to do so.
Laurens De Bock, Barry Douglas, Gjanni Alioski and since 2021, Junior Firpo. But Firpo’s time at Leeds has been ravaged by injury and question marks over his ability to defend, especially in the Premier League.
Firpo is likely to return to the starting line-up on Sunday when Leeds take on Sheffield Wednesday after a spell out with injury. He is just six months away from seeing his deal expire, Leeds need a replacement.
Had Burrows come onto the market this summer, Leeds surely would have been interested. But with Firpo still on the books, the need for a left-back was not as great last summer and Burrows joined the Blades.
