Leeds United missed out on several big-name targets during their time in the Premier League.
The likes of Cody Gakpo, Josko Gvardiol and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia just to name a few have all gone onto do big things since Leeds tried and failed to bring them to Elland Road.
But perhaps the most disappointing player Leeds let slip through their grasp is Viktor Gyokeres, who a deal was absolutely there to do in January earlier this year.
Leeds needed a striker ready to hit the ground running desperately and given that he was at Coventry City in the Championship, Elland Road represented a logical next step in his career.
However, Victor Orta opted against getting a deal done for Gyokeres and Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that several top clubs are already beginning to circle after his move to Sporting Club de Portugal.

Gyokeres ended up staying at Coventry in January and spearheaded their attack to within a penalty shootout of promotion to the Premier League, via the play-offs.
Leeds themselves were relegated which ended any chance of them reigniting their interest in the 24-year-old, and so he made the move to Portuguese side Sporting.
Gyokeres is absolutely flying at his new club and has already scored 13 goals in 13 starts, including two in the Europa League – his first taste of European football.
His form is already winning admiring glances from some of Europe’s top clubs and it is likely that Sporting will be able to sell him for big profit in the next couple of years.
The failure to sign Gyokeres was a monumental error by Orta and who knows, had he been signed, he may have scored the goals needed to keep Leeds in the Premier League.
