It all comes down to Monday. For weeks and indeed months, Leeds United fans have been predicting which game their side could seal their fate – and it Easter Monday is the first opportunity.
The first chance that Daniel Farke’s side can confirm themselves as a Premier League side for the 2025-26 season. Leeds host Stoke at 3pm, before Sheffield United go to Turf Moor to take on Burnley at 5.30pm.
A win for Leeds will take them to eight points, and it will require Sheffield United to beat Burnley away from home. A side that are unbeaten in 30 games and beat Sheffield United at Bramall Lane this season.
Ultimately, to guarantee a place in the top two on Monday, Leeds need to better Sheffield United’s result. Given The Whites host Stoke and Sheffield United face a daunting trip to Turf Moor, it is very likely.

Sam Parkin predicts Leeds United clash against Stoke City
On paper, this is not an easy foregone conclusion. Leeds have clocked up an enormous 91 points from 43 Championship games, and remain on course to reach the 100-point mark if they win all three matches.
Stoke had been battling relegation but a run of five games unbeaten under Mark Robins has taken Stoke to 16th place and seven points above the drop zone. Indeed, Stoke have won three of the last five games.
So Stoke come into the game in good spirits and will be keen to confirm their Championship safety for next season. However, Football League legend Sam Parkin says Leeds should win, predicting a 2-0 result.
“Yeah, I think so [they beat Stoke]. We predicted Stoke to win their previous game which will give them a bit of freedom. Leeds will win again and win comfortably, and by a couple of goals. A 2-0 home win.”
Sam Parkin also predicted Sheffield United’s trip to Burnley
So, if Parkin’s prediction rings true, Leeds will move to 94 points before Burnley and Sheffield United kick-off. It means Sheffield United will have to beat Burnley to stand any chance of securing a top-two place.
Sheffield United will be fully aware that Leeds are expected to beat Burnley. Indeed, they will not have their eye on toppling Leeds, but The Blades have much-better chance of going above Burnley in the race.
A win against Burnley will see Sheffield United move to 89 points, while Burnley are on 91 moving into the last two games. But if Leeds are to be promoted on Monday, The Whites need to better The Blades.

Parkin believes that will be the case, predicting a goalless draw at Turf Moor: “It’s been a season like no other for Burnley. It’s going to be predictable, it’s going to finish 0-0. 0-0, Sheffield United’s fate sealed.”
Leeds go into the game with Pascal Struijk and Joe Rothwell missing, though Dan James made a late outing in the win over Oxford United. Manor Solomon has confirmed he will be ready to go on Monday.
