Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is keen to silence the Elland Road crowd when his side take on Leeds United in the Premier League.

The famous Elland Road atmosphere was at its most ferocious when Leeds secured a much-needed win over Chelsea in their most recent Premier League fixture.

Under-fire head coach Daniel Farke received a rapturous round of applause at full-time, as the fans showed their appreciation for a pressure-relieving win.

However, the Leeds fans have not witnessed a Premier League win over Liverpool in 25 years, when Mark Viduka scored all four goals in a famous victory.

Now, Gravenberch has insisted he will not be overwhelmed by the occasion as he prepares to step into the Elland Road cauldron under lights.

Ryan Gravenberch wants to embrace the Elland Road atmosphere

Speaking to the Liverpool website, Gravenberch claimed that he was determined not to be overawed by the occasion in his first experience of facing Leeds.

Liverpool have shown signs of recovery in recent weeks, after a poor run of form, and the Dutch international wants to continue that in front of a hostile crowd.

“We know that an away game there is not easy,” Gravenberch said. “You also see other teams really struggling there. But we have to go with our own strength and power and show that we can do it there.

“We know that they are really physical and also the atmosphere there – they have a really good stadium. We have to prepare well for that. I’m really looking forward to it.

“It’s always nice to play in this kind of atmosphere. Then you want to show them that we can do it as well.”

Leeds United must beware quadruple threat from Liverpool

With Leeds riding the wave of their win over Chelsea, several pundits, including Alan Shearer, have predicted they will pull off another upset.

However, if Leeds are to secure a second consecutive win, they will need to keep Liverpool’s quadruple threat quiet in attack.

According to Opta, Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz have all created 20 or more chances in the Premier League season. No team in the Premier League has more players who have created more than 20 chances than Liverpool.

However, on the plus side for Leeds, the only other team with four equally creative players in attack is Chelsea, whom Leeds comprehensively controlled in their most recent win.
