Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo report that Yassine Bounou is fuming with the decision to drop him as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and has requested his agent to find him a new club – amid reports Leeds are keen.
Bounou, nicknamed Bono, has been at Sevilla for almost four years after initially joining the club on loan in 2019, before signing permanently a year later. He has gone on to play 135 times in all competitions for the La Liga outfit.
Of course, footballing fans will remember seeing him shine at the World Cup with Morocco – excelling in penalty shootouts and helping Morocco reach the semi-finals. But back at Sevilla, things are not going to plan right now.
They sit in 13th, just five points off the drop zone. New manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has dropped Bono, preferring Marko Dimitrovic in goal – for the last two La Liga games. A 2-0 win over Cadiz, and a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo.

Bono did return to the side in the Europa League on Thursday night as Sevilla came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. But, his time at Sevilla looks as though it is coming to an end.
Moroccan outlet Lions De L’Atlas claimed this week that Leeds, West Ham, Roma and Milan are all looking at the goalkeeper. Now, Mundo Deportivo have delivered an update on Bono – and he wants to leave the Spanish side.
Indeed, they claim that Bono is unhappy with the decision of the new manager to drop him. He has told his agent to find him a new club. The report mentions Leeds, Milan, Roma and West Ham are keen – as are some La Liga teams.
