Leeds United are unlikely to make any new signings before Sunday’s Championship opener with Cardiff City.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who report while work is ongoing to bring in fresh faces, nothing is imminent enough for it to arrive ahead of the weekend.
Leeds remain in the market for a number of new additions this summer but have so far managed to bring in just two players, with Ethan Ampadu joining from Chelsea and Karl Darlow arriving from Newcastle United.
The Whites are currently prioritising the addition of a new centre-back with Manchester City’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Liverpool’s Nat Phillips having been heavily linked.
Left-back, central midfield and striker remain other areas of interest to Leeds, though there is yet to be any real movement on those fronts.

As per the report, Leeds are still ‘actively pursuing’ a number of targets but also view retaining the services of Luis Sinisterra, Wilfried Gnonto, Tyler Adams and Jack Harrison as pivotal.
That said, given three of those players effectively play in the same position, it is paramount for Leeds to strengthen the squad in other areas.
Daniel Farke has already publicly made it clear that several new signings are needed, but at the same time has repeatedly insisted Leeds will be working right until the end of the window.
While movement has so far been frustratingly slow, it is important to take those words from Farke at face value and not judge the window until after it slams shut.
For the time being, Leeds undoubtedly has a strong enough squad to get through the first few weeks but given it is a 46 game season, signings will be paramount.
