Everton’s move for Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto has collapsed due to the payment terms that were offered.
That is according to the Times, who report Leeds would ‘not accept’ the ‘payment schedule’ Everton were offering, which has therefore seen it fall through.
As per the article, Leeds set an asking price for Gnonto at around the £40 million mark in a concrete attempt to ensure he remains at Elland Road this summer.
San Francisco 49ers Enterprises have made it clear throughout the window that Gnonto is not for sale despite the 19-year-old’s attempts to force through a move.
Gnonto handed in a transfer request last week in the wake of refusing to play in matches against both Shrewsbury Town and Birmingham City.

With Everton now seemingly looking elsewhere in their search for reinforcements, Gnonto is now back in training at Leeds.
Daniel Farke had previously told him to train away from the rest of the first team squad but after face-to-face talks earlier this week with both the German and Angus Kinnear, he has returned to the fold.
Gnonto is even in contention for Saturday’s trip to Ipswich Town, though it remains to be seen whether Farke will throw him straight into the fold.
The Italy international certainly has a long way to go in terms of rebuilding the bridges he has burnt at Leeds over the last few weeks.
However, if he keeps his head down, works hard and puts in the performances it won’t be long until parity is restored.
