Report shares how many more signings Leeds now want before the end of the window

Leeds United were chasing the addition of four new signings before the sale of Tyler Adams.

That is according to Leeds Live, who report Adams’ move to Bournemouth will have raised questions at boardroom level as to whether that number may have to rise.

Adams completed a £23 million + add-ons switch to the Cherries on Sunday after a week of speculation where it had initially looked as though he would join Chelsea.

The 24-year-old was Leeds’ first big money exit of the summer, that has seen them so far bring in just four new signings of their own so far.

Ethan Ampadu was the first to make the switch to Elland Road, with Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Joe Rodon all following him.

Leeds want at least four new signings

At the time of writing, there are now just over eight days until the end of the window with a number of positions still to address.

Adams’ departure is likely to increase Leeds’ need for one central midfielder to two, with Lewis O’Brien and Glen Kamara having been heavily linked.

A number nine and 10 should also be on the agenda and the Whites have been credited with strong interest in Joel Piroe and Joseph Paintsil, the former of which they have stepped up their pursuit of.

It appears as though full-back is the final area that needs addressing, but whether that is on the right or left is another question.

Having gone so close to signing Max Aarons, it would appear a right-back is a more pressing concern to Daniel Farke, though no fresh names have yet cropped up.

Departures elsewhere in the squad could also see that aforementioned number increase further, with Junior Firpo, Cody Drameh, Wilfried Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra and Illan Meslier all possibilities.
