Turkish outlet Sporx claim Rangers have tabled an offer to sign Fenerbahce wing-back Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer – amid earlier reports that Leeds United had opened talks over a move for the versatile Nigerian star.
Most English football fans will remember 25-year-old Osayi-Samuel as a winger. Starting at Blackpool and playing 79 times on the flanks, he moved to QPR – where he clocked up another 115 games, 103 in the Championship.
In 2020, he made the surprise move to leave English football and go to Turkey, with SuperLig giants Fenerbahce. The move has since help him earn three Nigeria caps, finishing this season four games shy of 100 Fener outings.
But it appears that this summer, the versatile ace might be off. Converted into a wing-back at Fener, or even a full-back on occasion – A Spor reported recently that Leeds and Bournemouth were in talks for the £9million-rated ace.
However, Michael Beale is looking to steal a march on Leeds and Bournemouth. The latest report from Sporx says that Rangers have tabled an offer – as they prepare for a Champions League third-round qualifying match.

Osayi-Samuel is the ideal kind of player to have on the bench. Able to play right-back, right wing and do a decent job on the other side. He has that ingrained versatility that lots of players do not, able to convert into new roles.
Stuart Dallas, for examples, is capable of doing so, too. Would he get into Rangers’ starting XI? Not in defence, but the Gers do need wingers. Long-term Leeds target Ryan Kent has left. Leeds could do with Osayi-Samuel too.
Left-back and the wings are areas in which Leeds are expected to sell players. Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are all attracting interest. It might be Leeds need to buy three or four wingers.
