Italian outlet CM claim that Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo is keen on a move to Leeds United on deadline day, but Everton and Southampton have joined the race. A move for Zaniolo, though, seems dependent on whether Jack Harrison stays.

Zaniolo, 23, is expected to leave Roma with Jose Mourinho’s side keen to get rid. The only obstacle interested parties must overcome is Roma’s demands – which are, a permanent deal right now, or a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Italian outlet GIFN claim Leeds are in constant talks to sign Zaniolo – with Leeds eyeing him as a replacement for our no.11 Harrison. Sky Sports say FFP could stop The Foxes doing a deal for Harrison, as they eye Stoke’s Harry Souttar.

Bournemouth had a fee of £31million accepted – but Zaniolo bid rejected. Now, CM say that Zaniolo is keen on a move to Leeds – but Everton, Southampton, Leipzig and Milan are also showing interest. An intriguing saga on deadline day.

Zaniolo keen on Leeds move but Everton and Southampton in Roma race

Zaniolo would be a wonderful signing. A proper talent that can play anywhere in the final third. His 6ft 2in frame allows him to play up top. But he has the agility and speed to play on the flanks, and the creativity to play in the no.10 role.

So, what next for Zaniolo? He has offers on the table. But, they are all loan-to-buy options – rather than permanent deals. Roma are not accepting those bids, unless they soften towards the deadline. Harrison looks set to stay at Leeds.

Leeds have plenty of options in attack now after the signing of Georginio Rutter, Harrison looking like he will stay and Patrick Bamford back from injury. Willy Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra, Cree Summerville, Brenden Aaronson etc. Not needed.
