Leeds United vice-chairman Paraag Marathe is planning to interview both Carlos Corberan and Daniel Farke next week as the club step up their search for a new manager.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, which suggests that Marathe will speak to several candidates in the coming days as Leeds continue their preparations for the new season.
It has not been the ideal start to the summer for Leeds. The takeover situation means that the club have been playing catch-up with many of their rivals.
Leeds set for manager interviews next week
But it would appear that Leeds may now be approaching the home straight when it comes to appointing Sam Allardyce’s successor at Elland Road.
According to the Daily Mail, Marathe is set to interview both Carlos Corberan and Daniel Farke amongst others next week.
It would be interesting to know who the other contenders may be. But you would imagine that Corberan and Farke are likely to be in the driving seat.
Corberan would be a popular appointment with the players. Of course, he previously worked at Leeds as a coach, initially working with the under-23s before being promoted by Marcelo Bielsa.
Farke meanwhile, has more than proven himself at Championship level, winning promotion on a couple of occasions.
Corberan is also established in the second tier. He is yet to win promotion. But he did a remarkable job at Huddersfield. And managing West Brom does not appear to be the easiest task at this point in time.
It is going to be difficult for Leeds to find a manager who excites the fanbase. But whoever comes in will get the backing of the supporters.
