The Yorkshire Evening Post claims Leeds United are willing to allow Ian Poveda to leave on loan this summer. The winger was a regular off the bench under Marcelo Bielsa during 2020-21 – but did little to suggest he deserved a start. Now, Poveda could leave the Whites on loan.
Poveda, 21, joined Leeds on a free transfer from Manchester City in January 2020. But the four-time England Under-20 man has managed just 20 appearnaces for Leeds since. Of those 20 appearances, 17 have come from the bench. All 14 of his Premier League outings last term, were sub outings.
Why Poveda could leave Leeds on loan this summer…
Now, the Yorkshire Evening Post has reported the potential of a loan exit this summer. The Leeds newspaper says that Netherlands youth international Crysencio Summerville is said to have overtaken Poveda in the rankings. It means Poveda might not even get on the bench.
He failed to on Saturday, during the 5-1 defeat to Manchester United. Poveda was also absent as Mark Jackson’s under-23 side got off to a winning start on Monday, beating Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park. The report states that Poveda looks more than likely to leave the club on loan.
