Patrick Bamford was inevitably linked with Tottenham Hotspur this week. His contract situation at Leeds United remains up in the air. With Harry Kane looking more likely than ever to leave, Tottenham need cover. Bamford has been identified, but The Mirror says he wants to stay at Leeds.
Bamford, 27, surprised many last season as he found the back of the net 17 times for Leeds. His form in the Premier League almost got him a call-up for England at Euro 2020. In the midst of this, Bamford is now in the final 12 months of his Leeds contract. A deal is yet to be agreed for the striker.
Bamford to Tottenham: What is the Leeds star’s decision?
The Telegraph claim Bamford has admirers at Tottenham with England skipper Kane likely to join Manchester City before the deadline kicks in. But the Mirror has delivered a update on Tottenham potentially signing Bamford – a player that cost Leeds just £7million three summers ago.
It is said that Bamford has found his home in Yorkshire and is more intent on signing a new deal – than looking for an exit. Despite a 5-1 opening-day defeat, Leeds are looking forward rather than backwards and Bamford wants to be a part of that. Tottenham will have to look elsewhere.
