Leeds United have not received any offers for defender Charlie Cresswell so far this summer.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who claim despite reports Leeds have already rejected a bid for Cresswell, the club insist that is not the case.
It was reported earlier this month that Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers had seen a bid turned down for Cresswell, with the potential of them returning for a second time.
However, that does not appear to be the case and Cresswell will instead be looking to make this his breakthrough year at Elland Road following the club’s relegation.
Cresswell spent last season on loan at Millwall, where he recovered from a difficult start to enjoy a fine first full season in senior football, scoring four goals in 28 matches.
Leeds yet to receive offer for Cresswell
With Diego Llorente and Robin Koch set to depart, the right centre back berth is currently there for the taking for Cresswell, with the 20-year-old one of several youngsters looking to make the step up.
Cody Drameh, Joe Gelhardt and Leo Hjelde were also on loan in the Championship last season, and are now capable of making an impact in Leeds’ first team.
Cresswell is currently away on international duty with England’s U21s at the EUROs in Georgia, and so won’t be returning for pre-season until July 10.
Upon his return to Thorp Arch, Cresswell will be desperate to hit the ground running for pre-season, particularly with a new manager set to be in charge.
Leeds must do everything they can to keep the likes of Cresswell around as they could be crucial to replacing some of those on their way out.
