Diego Llorente and Marc Roca are both expected to report for the first day of Leeds United’s pre-season on Monday.

That is according to Leeds Live, who report both Llorente and Roca are expected to tie up moves away from Elland Road in the near future but will return to Thorp Arch for the opening rounds of testing.

Llorente is on the verge of returning to AS Roma on a season-long-loan deal with the two clubs having returned to the negotiating table after they opted against triggering their £18m permanent option.

It is claimed that it is just the final details that need finalising to get the deal over the line, with an obligation to buy of around just £4.3 expected to be agreed if certain conditions are met.

Roca, meanwhile, is also close to leaving on a loan with an option-to-buy to Real Betis. Reports from Spain have even indicated he could undergo a medical as early as Tuesday.

Roca and Llorente to return for pre-season despite imminent exits

Despite those reports, Roca is expected to return for pre-season with Leeds on Monday, indicating reports of a medical with Betis are at this stage premature.

Despite only Tyler Roberts and Alfie McCalmont having departed so far this summer, Roca and Llorente are just two of several first team players expected to leave.

Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison, Robin Koch, Junior Firpo, Rasmus Kristensen and Rodrigo have all also heavily been linked with transfers elsewhere.

As well as Roca and Llorente, Koch, Firpo and Harrison are set to report for pre-season on Monday, with transfers still not far enough down the line despite speculation.

Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra are also among the first group, though it remains to be seen how far along both are in terms of their injuries after missing the end of last season.
