Report: 26-year-old Leeds man now set for medical at new club on July 4

Real Betis are hopeful Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca will undergo a medical at the club on July 4.

That is according to Estadio Deportivo, who report Betis are keen on Roca to join up with their pre-season tour of Germany between July 5 and July 15, and so want the deal wrapped up by then.

However, it is still said that Roca’s move to Betis remains on hold until William Carvalho can finalise his expected move to Saudi Arabia, which would free up the required salary space.

Once Carvalho’s exit is completed, Betis will be able to close the deal for Roca, with everything said to have been agreed, including an option-to-buy him permanently next summer.

Roca is one of three deals Betis are looking to close out in the coming days, with Ayoze Perez and Hector Bellerin also set to join the club.

Betis set July 4 as date for Roca medical

Leeds are set to begin pre-season training on July 2 and Roca is among the first group of players scheduled to return to the club this weekend.

However, according to the report in Spain, the agreement reached between the two clubs means that Roca would not have to travel back to England to take part in the first few days of testing.

Roca is one of a number of players expected to depart in the coming weeks and could well be among the first of last season’s first team players.

Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen are not expected to be too far behind the 26-year-old, with both on the cusp of loan moves to Roma.

Robin Koch is another who appears to be close to the exit door with reports from Germany indicating he has agreed personal terms with Eintracht Frankfurt.
