A report from Football Transfers claims Everton are in talks for Leeds United duo Jack Harrison and Willy Gnonto this summer, after the Toffees pipped Leeds to the one remaining safe spot in the Premier League on the final day.

Leeds are expected to sell a number of players in the coming weeks, with a sporting director in place and a new manager likely to be announced next week. At the top of the list of likely departures, are duo Harrison and Gnonto.

Harrison signed a new deal recently, but it is has now come to light that he has a relegation release clause in his deal. Gnonto, meanwhile, starred in the Premier League at times – and given his potential, he is generating interest.

The likes of West Ham, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham have all been linked with Harrison. Gnonto is likely to be the subject of approaches from Italian clubs. Now, Football Transfers claim Everton are in talks to sign both stars.

A recent report from CM states that Leeds had told Serie A duo Milan and Fiorentina that they want £18m for Italy ace Gnonto. To sell to an English club, it is likely to be more. Football Transfers say Harrison’s clause is just £16m.

Well, it would leave a really bad taste in the mouth if either Harrison or Gnonto moved to Everton. It is also largely unlikely, given the calibre of clubs that are also being linked. Clubs that are in European football, for both players.

So, while it is clear that Everton are trying to bring in both Harrison and Gnonto, one would predict that both Gnonto and Harrison will go – it will not be to Everton. Instead, it will surely be a top-10 Premier League club, and Serie A.
