Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim AC Milan and Fiorentina have both made enquiries this week to sign Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto – and have been told to fork out £18m for the winger. Both clubs feel that fee is too excessive.
Gnonto, 19, is currently with Italy’s Under-21 side. Having been initially called-up by Roberto Mancini for the Nations League matches with the senior side, the decision has been made to include him in the 21’s for the Under-21 Euros.
Whether he returns to Leeds, though, for pre-season is another question altogether. Gnonto of course is going to be the subject of plenty of interest this summer, with Premier League and Serie A clubs said to be looking at the talent.

The latest claims are from CM, who say AC Milan and Europa Conference League finalists Fiorentina have made an enquiry to sign Gnonto. Both clubs have been told to pay a fee of £18m by Leeds. But, both think that is too much.
That is going to prevent talks from taking place between both clubs and Leeds. However, Milan and Fiorentina will enter talks with Leeds if we reduce our asking price – or become willing to let him leave on loan this summer.

Gnonto tore apart some Premier League defences last year. At 19, he has huge potential and already boasts 10 Italy caps. Leeds’ price tag of £18m might be too expensive for Milan or Fiorentina, but we should be asking for more.
Selling Gnonto for £18m would be considered cheap by Leeds fans and the board need to be considering a fee in the region of £25m if they are to sell Gnonto. The youngster does not seem the type to want to push for a transfer.
