Real Betis are yet to make an offer for Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca despite reports from Spain indicating a deal is close.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who have disputed reports a loan move between the two clubs is agreed, with Leeds still waiting to receive an official bid.
Betis have been linked with a move for Roca for a number of weeks now, with the Spanish media even describing a deal as ‘imminent’.
Girona and Victor Orta-bound Sevilla have also been mentioned as potential destinations, though Betis have remained front-runners due to their long-standing interest in the 26-year-old.
Betis were also keen to sign Roca last summer but were beaten to the punch by Leeds due to finances, though the offer of Europa League football this time around is said to be tempting the midfielder into a move.
Betis yet to make Leeds offer for Roca
Roca is one of numerous players expected to leave Leeds this summer in the wake of their relegation, though reports in Spain appear to be premature.
After a promising start to life at Elland Road, Roca struggled in the Premier League and looks likely to move on just 12 months since his arrival from Bayern Munich.
He made 32 league appearances as Leeds were relegated last season, with the midfielder failing to adapt to either of Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia’s style of play.
If Leeds are only able to secure a loan move for his services this summer, it is paramount they negotiate an option or obligation to buy into the deal.
That said, it appears as though there is still plenty of work to be done to see him depart and so it could be a saga that drags on for a while yet.
