Birmingham Live report that Birmingham City have issued Leeds United a hands-off warning after the Whites made an approach to sign talented Blues teen George Hall – with previous reports claiming Leeds were ‘closing in’ on a move.
Hall, 18, has impressed at Birmingham City this season. Coming into the campaign with just two senior outings to his name, the England Under-18 star has since gone on to play 18 times this term. He even scored against Watford.
TeamTalk reported on Tuesday that Leeds were ‘closing in’ on the signing of Hall. A replacement, for Mateusz Klich who seems destined to join Wayne Rooney’s DC United in the MLS. But, it appears that report might be jumping the gun
That is, as Birmingham Live report Leeds have been told ‘no, thanks’. They report that Leeds have made an approach, likely to be through Victor Orta, but despite the Blues being financially restricted – they have rejected a move to Leeds.
Indeed, Birmingham Live also say if an offer comes in and the price is right, then it is likely it will be considered. Given the club are in financial difficulty. But, they have offered Hall a new deal – with his current contract ending in 2024.

Clearly, Hall is a top talent. To have already made himself first-choice at a Championship side is good going for a player of just 18. Not only that, but to be attracting the interest of a Premier League club such as Leeds, ahead of January.
Leeds will know that a decent offer for Hall will twist Birmingham’s arm. Even if they would prefer to keep him. The question is, does Hall want to leave his boyhood club. Where he is playing regularly – to end up at Elland Road?
