Leeds United are lining up three UK-based friendlies ahead of next month’s Championship opener against Cardiff City.

That is according to BBC West Yorkshire Sport, who report they are looking to schedule a further three pre-season matches on top of the game against Manchester United in Oslo.

As mentioned, Leeds have just one friendly in place for the summer so far as they face rivals Man United on July 12 in the Norwegian capital.

Amid uncertainty surrounding the future of several players, and last month’s internationals not set to return until July 10, it is unclear what sort of team Leeds will be able to put out against the Red Devils.

As such, it is vital Leeds schedule a further few friendlies to ensure they are ready for the new season, and familiar with the methods of likely new manager Daniel Farke.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, one of those matches could well be a trip to Glasgow to face Scottish Premiership side Rangers at Ibrox.

That would certainly represent a decent test for Leeds, with Rangers set to compete in next season’s Champions League and keen to push Celtic for another title.

Details of the other two remain unclear, though it is expected that they will stay in the UK aside from their trip to Norway, unlike 12 months ago when they toured Australia.

This could be one of Leeds’ most important pre-seasons in some time with a new manager set to be in the dugout, and a huge squad overhaul expected.

Leeds will be keen to ensure any potential signings have gelled as well as possible with their teammates, as well as becoming accustomed to the new tactical methods.
