Jack Harrison has emerged as another player San Francisco 49ers Enterprises are determined to keep at Leeds United this summer.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who report Harrison, alongside Tyler Adams, Wilfried Gnonto and Max Wober have been earmarked as four key members of the squad 49ers are keen to keep around.
Following relegation to the Championship last month, Harrison has attracted interest from a host of clubs with a reported £16m release clause in his contract that he penned back in April.
Everton have been mentioned as one potential destination, while there is also interest from three other Premier League sides, as well as one in Europe, which can provide him with Champions League football.
Leeds will look to do all they can to keep Harrison at Elland Road for a sixth successive season, though if the reported release clause is correct, there isn’t much they can do if it is activated.
49ers determined to keep Harrison at Leeds
Despite inconsistencies in his performances, Harrison has provided Leeds with regular goals and assists since being at the club, particularly in the Premier League.
He has scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists in the three seasons since promotion, always fending off competition for his place despite numerous signings of wide players.
Harrison was an important part of Leeds’ title winning campaign three years ago and should he still be at the club this time round, he would again be crucial.
Leeds are expected to lose a number of first team players this summer and Harrison could well be one of them, though 49ers will go that extra step in order to keep him.
With him alongside Gnonto and potentially at least one of Luis Sinsterra, Georginio Rutter or Crysencio Summerville, Leeds would have a star-studded attack for the Championship.
