Leeds United striker Rodrigo Moreno has agreed personal terms ahead of a move to Sevilla.

That is according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who report the deal could go through on July 1 with everything surrounding the transfer having been finalised.

July 1 is the date Sevilla reportedly expect to be able to register new players and Rodrigo is set to follow Victor Orta to the Europa League winners, who was named as the club’s sporting director earlier this week.

Orta had been out of work for almost two months until his appointment at Sevilla following his dismissal at Leeds, replacing Monchi in the hotseat after he moved to Aston Villa.

Almost instantly after Orta’s arrival at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, reports in the Spanish press claimed Rodrigo was close to following him, and it now appears the move has taken a step closer.

Rodrigo’s agent and father Adalberto Machado spoke earlier this week on the 32-year-old’s future, revealing he would be open to a switch to Sevilla.

Machado also claimed he was set to sit down with Leeds to hold talks with the club’s hierarchy regarding his son, though it is unclear whether that has taken place yet.

Rodrigo has been at Elland Road for three years now since his switch from Valencia, but a move to Sevilla would allow him to return home, while also playing Champions League football.

After netting 13 goals last season, few would begrudge him of a move to a side like Sevilla, particularly now he is back in the international fold with Spain.

The report does not mention what fee Sevilla will be paying Leeds for the striker, though reports earlier in the window claimed he has a release clause of £3.5 million.
